Before installation day
We confirm the date and arrival window the week before the installation. On the day we usually arrive between 8.30 and 9.30 am and start within 15 minutes of arriving, unless an earlier slot has been agreed.
A few small things help the work go smoothly: clear the windowsills of ornaments, take down existing curtains or blinds if you would like us to dispose of them, and give us reasonable access to each room being fitted. We bring our own dust sheets and tools.
What we do on the day
Each room is handled in turn: protect the floor, check the reveal against the manufactured frame one more time, fix the frame square and plumb (shimming where the reveal is out of true), then hang the panels and align the louvres.
We test every panel before moving on. Louvres should tilt evenly across the full height, panels should sit flush against the frame when closed, and the tilt rod (or hidden tilt mechanism) should hold position consistently. If anything is not right at this stage, we fix it before we move to the next window.
How long it takes
Rough guide: 60 to 90 minutes per window for a straightforward full-height installation. Bay windows take 2 to 3 hours because of the angled sections. A whole-house installation across 6 to 10 windows is normally one full day.
Complex installations (tracked bi-fold doors, shaped or arched windows, very deep reveals) take longer and we confirm the realistic estimate when we book the date.
The final walkthrough
Once every window is fitted, we walk through the whole installation with you. We open and close each panel, demonstrate the tilt mechanism, and show you the reveal detail and any small finishing touches.
You only sign off when you are happy with the work. If anything looks off (a panel that catches, a tiny gap in the frame, louvres that bind), we adjust it on the spot or come back to put it right. The remaining balance is paid after the walkthrough.
