Shutter Warranty and Aftercare

Hardwood has a 5-year manufacturer guarantee and Polycomposite has a 10-year manufacturer guarantee.

Manufacturer cover applies to manufacturing and material defects under the written terms. It is separate from the Shutters Design personal guarantee for our own work.

Your written order terms confirm the start date, scope and conditions that apply to your shutters.

The Shutters Design 10-year personal guarantee is non-transferable. It covers components, finishes, replacement parts and return visits for faults attributable to our work.

Customer-caused damage may cost extra. This personal guarantee does not extend the manufacturer guarantee or replace your statutory rights.

The manufacturer guarantee does not cover misuse, accidental damage, normal wear and tear, or damage caused by using Hardwood in a wet room.

Manufacturer terms also exclude damage caused by unapproved cleaners, solvents, abrasives, modification or improper maintenance. The written manufacturer terms supplied with your order control that cover. They are not a description of our separate personal guarantee.

Contact us with your name, installation address and order reference if you have it. Describe the problem and include clear photographs where possible.

We review the cause and identify which guarantee applies, arranging an in-person assessment when the details are insufficient. A manufacturer defect is considered under the manufacturer terms; a fault attributable to our work is considered under our personal guarantee.

For a covered fault, we arrange the appropriate remedy at no cost under the applicable guarantee. Customer-caused damage may cost extra, so the cause and proposed work are confirmed before any chargeable repair.

If your shutters need repair, restoration, replacement parts or refitting, Shutter Installation handles work on existing shutters.

The service can assess the fault and explain the available options even when the original manufacturer guarantee no longer applies.
