The total depends on window size, style, material, and how you order. We price standard shutters per square metre: Express Polycomposite is £315/sqm, Express Hardwood is £380/sqm, and Plan & Save is £260/sqm for both materials. All three rates include VAT, the home survey, supply and fitting. Bays, tier-on-tier panels, shaped windows, and tracked doors need a survey before we can price them properly. We measure the openings and discuss the specification, then usually send the quote the same day or next day after assessment. No deposit is taken at the survey.

Our two flagship materials are Hardwood and Polycomposite. Hardwood is lighter for dry rooms and larger panels. Polycomposite is waterproof and has metal insertions inside its louvres and frame, giving it better thermal and noise insulation than Hardwood. Specialist Aluminium security shutters are also available for internal windows with optional locking features. Our material comparison explains the practical differences.

Louvres are the horizontal slats that control light and privacy. A tilt rod moves a set of louvres together. A midrail is a fixed horizontal rail across a panel. A midrail or split louvre controls can separate upper and lower tilt while a full-height panel remains one piece. The buying guide explains the terms to compare before ordering.

Hardwood: 47, 64, 76, and 89 mm. Polycomposite and Aluminium: 64, 76, and 89 mm. We bring physical samples to the home survey so you can compare proportions on your actual window. Express and Plan & Save have the same material specifications and options.

Bar tilt has a visible rod down the middle of each panel. Hidden tilt moves the linkage inside the louvres for a clean unbroken face. Both available on both ranges; decided at the survey. Our shutter styles guide shows where each layout works best.

British-made Express usually takes 2-3 weeks. Plan & Save is made overseas to the same specification and usually takes 8-9 weeks. Both lead times begin once your 50% deposit is paid and your order is placed. Shaped work and complex tracked systems can take longer. A straightforward window usually takes 60-90 minutes, a room around 2-4 hours, and a whole-house installation across 6-10 windows normally takes one day. Bays, shaped windows and tracked systems can take longer. Our installation guide explains what to expect on fitting day.

Clear the sills and provide clear access to each opening. Move fragile items and furniture that blocks the working area or panel swing. If another window covering needs removing, agree who will remove it before fitting day. The installation guide explains what to expect.

We need agreed access to every room being fitted. Confirm who will provide access and who can review the finished installation when the fitting appointment is arranged.

Shutter fitting involves tools and fixings at the window. Clear the immediate working area before the appointment and ask about any room-specific preparation when the date is confirmed.

Yes. We measure each section of a bay individually and plan the panel layout around the real angles and clearances. Our shutter styles guide compares bay, shaped-window and door configurations.

Yes. We supply and fit a manual black honeycomb blackout blind in the same frame as new shutters, or retrofit blackout blinds behind suitable existing shutter panels when the layout allows it. Fully closed shutters provide 98% darkness. The blinds block 100% of light for complete darkness. Our blackout blinds guide explains both options.

Wipe Polycomposite gently with a damp cloth. Gently dust Hardwood with a soft brush and keep it dry. Avoid unspecified chemically treated wet wipes and harsh cleaners. Our care guide explains safe operation and when a fault needs assessment.

Do not force the panel or louvres and do not apply a lubricant that is not approved in your written aftercare. Check the care guide and arrange an assessment if the shutter still does not operate as expected.

Do not assume that a general household cleaner is suitable. Follow the written care instructions for your shutter material, or contact us before using a product that is not named in those instructions. The care guide explains how to avoid accidental surface damage.

A properly fitted set can last for many years with sensible care. Material choice matters: Polycomposite belongs in wet rooms, while Hardwood should stay in dry rooms. Compare the materials before choosing.

Hardwood carries a 5-year manufacturer guarantee and Polycomposite carries a 10-year manufacturer guarantee against defects. Separately, our non-transferable 10-year personal guarantee covers components, finishes, replacement parts and return visits for faults attributable to our work. Manufacturer guarantees exclude misuse, accidental damage, normal wear and tear, modification, improper maintenance and Hardwood moisture damage in wet rooms, subject to their written terms. We identify which guarantee applies and arrange the appropriate remedy at no cost for a covered fault. Manufacturer defects and faults attributable to our work are assessed under their separate guarantees; customer-caused damage may cost extra.
