Our story

How we got here

After more than a decade working in the plantation shutter trade, we had seen enough of how larger operations ran to know we wanted to do things differently. Projects where customers had been oversold. Installations where someone other than the person who quoted the job turned up on fitting day. Advice shaped by what was in stock rather than what suited the room.

We set up Shutters Design as a deliberate alternative to that model. A family-run business where every enquiry, survey, specification, and installation is handled by the same small team. Where the advice given at the first visit is honest, even if it means recommending the simpler option.

That approach has not changed since we started. The business has grown through referrals and returning customers, which is the kind of growth that only happens when the work is consistently done well.
